Alexis Creasey (#9)

The Albion Raptors put five goals in on the visiting Lakefront SC, the most they've scored in a single game since their season opener.

It was Abby Scanlan who started off the scoring for the Raptors. Mariah Plain won the ball in the attacking third, and split two Lakefront defender to send a through ball into Scanlan for the finish. The Raptors back line was able to keep the lead during the half, with plenty of help from goalkeeper, Lauren Wehling. Wehling came up with two big 1v1 saves to keep Lakefront off the board. Albion would go into halftime with the 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Lakefront was able to get the first goal to tie it up. After losing possession in their defensive third, the Raptors were not able to keep Lakefront out of the box, and they capitalized on a quick shot that just barely got through Wehling. Albion was quick to respond, though, with another goal from Scanlan. After a solid win in the back from Aly Knaak, Claire Squicciarini continued to get the ball through the midfield with two great headers. Nikki Creasey was quit to collect it and get a shot off. After it deflected off a Lakefront defender, Scanlan was able to find it and beat the Lakefront keeper far post. The eventual game-winner would end up coming from Squicciarini. Scanlan got the ball out wide and fed Squicciarini a cross for her to finish. Lakefront was able to bring themselves within one, however, after a questionable PK call on Knaak. The Raptors were sure to not get their heads down and were once again quick to respond. Scanlan would complete her hat trick after Creasey fed her a cross from the left where she was able to best the defenders to get in 1v1 with the keeper. Kenzi Hapeman would finish off the scoring, finding the back of the net in the ten minutes of the game. After Kendall Derisley drew a foul, Plain stepped up to take the free kick, and Hapeman was able to get a deflection in the box for the goal.

Albion is now 5-2-0 in RDYSL play, sitting in third place. They're next in action on the road July 11 against the Fairport Flash. Kickoff is set for 6:30 PM at Fairport High School.
