The Raptors suffered their first RDYSL loss tonight, 4-3 against the Hilton Heat.

Starting with a strong first half, the Raptors had multiple quality chances in the first ten minutes. Abby Scanlan started off the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 23 minute mark. Taking the ball off the Hilton defender, she was able to get in 1v1 with the Hilton goalkeeper. Kendall Derisley was able to double the lead shortly after. Claire Squicciarini earned the assist by sending Derisley, who took a shot of the corner of the 18, firing it far post for an upper 90 shot. Hilton was able to get on the board towards the end of the half, off a free kick from just outside the 18 that went over call-up goalkeeper, Kennedy Hamilton.

Going into the second half with the lead, Albion was too eager to sit back and Hilton was able to capitalize, scoring two goals to go up 3-2. The Raptors continued to battle, though, and Scanlan was able to get on the score sheet again to tie it up at three. Aly Knaak was able to send a ball across to Scanlan, when she got in behind the defense to put a shot through the hands of the Hilton goalkeeper. Hilton kept putting the pressure on, and was able to score the game winner with about 15 left in the game.

The Raptors U16 team is next in action, competing in the Wilson Tournament this weekend. Their first game will kick off at 8:00 AM against the Hilton Heat
